It's rare for a country music newcomer to get the spotlight all to himself or herself for 30 minutes on national TV. But that's exactly what the artists nominated for Academy of Country Music Awards in the "Top New" categories will receive on Great American Country. Each Monday evening March 12 through May 7, popular GAC host Lorianne Crook will feature an entire program devoted to an individual artist or group nominated in the Top New categories in the 2007 Academy of Country Music Awards: Top New Male Vocalist, Top New Female Vocalist and Top New Duo or Vocal Group. Each of the nine half-hour episodes will highlight the impressive successes each artist has attained during the past year and will include the artist's thoughts about his or her career and future opportunities. The winner in each category will be unveiled during the 42nd Annual Academy of Country Music Awards program on May 15.
